Why is the result below my mouse setting?

The browser, operating system, movement speed, power mode, and event coalescing can reduce the frequency visible to a web page. Move quickly and compare repeated runs.

Is this the same as a USB hardware analyzer?

No. It measures pointer events delivered to the page, not packets on the USB cable. It is useful for browser-path comparisons but should not be presented as laboratory hardware measurement.

Troubleshooting

Fix common problems

The observed rate is low or unstable

  1. 1Move the mouse quickly in continuous circles for at least three seconds.
  2. 2Connect the receiver or cable directly and keep a wireless receiver close to the mouse.
  3. 3Check the polling-rate setting in the mouse software and disable operating-system power saving for the device.
