Common questions

Does this measure monitor response time in milliseconds?

No. A normal web page cannot directly read physical pixel transition time. Use the moving target for visual inspection and the reported FPS only for browser animation cadence.

Why does the moving target stutter?

Stutter can come from missed animation frames, a busy computer, browser power saving, a background tab, or a mismatch between the animation and display refresh cadence.

Fix common problems

Motion looks smeared or doubled

  1. 1Confirm the display is using its intended refresh rate in operating-system display settings.
  2. 2Try a lower or middle monitor overdrive setting; excessive overdrive can create bright inverse trails.
  3. 3Keep the tab visible and close heavy background workloads before comparing settings.
