Screen Resolution Checker

Read the browser-exposed screen size, available area, current viewport, device-pixel ratio, estimated physical pixel rendering size, orientation, color depth, and touch-point capability. Values update when the window or orientation changes.

Screen information

Live browser-exposed display and viewport values. These are privacy-limited web values, not a hardware panel certification.

What this test tells you

This tool reports only interactions and browser APIs it can observe. It does not infer hidden hardware specifications or turn unsupported access into made-up results.

Before you run

Get a cleaner answer

  • Use the actual device, control, or output you want to check.
  • Allow camera or microphone access only when that test asks.
  • Browser privacy limits are shown as unsupported, not as failures.
  • Repeat the interaction if you want to confirm a fault.

Useful context

Common questions

Why is the viewport smaller than the screen?

The viewport excludes browser interface and can be further affected by window size, mobile browser bars, zoom, and page layout.

Does DPR equal the physical screen scale?

It is a browser rendering ratio and can change with zoom or operating-system scaling, so it is not always a direct hardware specification.

Troubleshooting

Fix common problems

Resolution Checker is not responding

  1. 1Reload the page and keep this tab visible while testing.
  2. 2Check browser permissions and connect the device you want to test directly.
  3. 3Try the same check in another current browser to separate a browser issue from a device issue.
