Headphone Left & Right Test

Play an auto-stopping reference tone in only the left channel, only the right channel, or equally in both. Use it to check stereo orientation, cable or earbud output, channel balance clues, and audio routing.

Speaker test

Check each speaker channel

Play a local stereo tone to check the left and right speaker channels. No audio leaves this device.

Start with a low device volume. Remove headphones before testing loud speakers, and stop immediately if the tone is uncomfortable.

Before you run

Get a cleaner answer

  • Use the actual device, control, or output you want to check.
  • Allow camera or microphone access only when that test asks.
  • Browser privacy limits are shown as unsupported, not as failures.
  • Repeat the interaction if you want to confirm a fault.

Useful context

Common questions

What should happen in the center test?

The same signal is sent to both channels, so it should sound centered when channel balance and headphone placement are even.

Can this diagnose a damaged cable?

It can reveal missing or intermittent channel output, but another source and cable should be tested before identifying the cause.
